G3 Ministries, a Georgia-based Reformed Baptist organization whose name stands for “Gospel—Grace—Glory,” has named Dr. Scott Aniol as president, effective July 9. The professor, author, and church elder has served as the executive vice president and editor-in-chief at G3 Ministries since 2021.
In a statement about the appointment, the G3 Ministries board of directors credited Aniol with expanding the work of G3 Press and the digital platform G3 Plus. In addition, they said, he has “guided the growth of the G3 Church Network to more than 200 churches united by a shared commitment to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession.”
Aniol, who has more than two decades of experience in pastoral ministry, said he is “deeply committed to maintaining [G3’s] firm stand on first-level doctrinal matters while modeling gracious engagement on areas where faithful brothers may differ.”
Aniol replaces G3 founder Josh Buice, who resigned in May after using social media accounts to anonymously speak poorly of various Christian leaders.
Scott Aniol Takes the Reins at G3 Ministries
Scott Aniol, who serves as an elder at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, holds a Ph.D. in worship ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He speaks regularly on topics such as worship, music, philosophy of ministry, culture, and aesthetics.
Aniol is professor of pastoral theology at Grace Bible Theological Seminary in Arkansas. His books include “Biblical Foundations of Corporate Worship” and “Citizens and Exiles: Christian Faithfulness in God’s Two Kingdoms.” Aniol and his wife, Becky, have four children.
In his new role, Aniol said he wants G3 Ministries to continue serving as “a trusted resource for pastors and churches and a platform for amplifying the voices of ordinary men who faithfully labor in the Word week after week.”
Jonathan Frazier, chairman of the G3 board, said Aniol has provided “exceptional leadership and faithful stewardship” during his four years with the ministry. Laramie Minga, the group’s director of operations, praised Aniol’s “integrity, theological clarity, and steadfastness.” He emphasized that the new president is committed to the local church as well as to G3 Ministries.
Joel Beeke, chancellor of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, called Aniol “multi-gifted for leadership and personal relationships in promoting the biblically conservative Reformed faith.” In addition, he said the new president is “highly qualified to steer G3 in biblical and godly ways that will aim for the glory of God, the maturation of believers, and the salvation of the lost.”
