Scott Aniol Replaces G3 Founder Josh Buice
As ChurchLeaders reported, G3 Ministries experienced upheaval earlier this year. In May, founder Josh Buice admitted to using at least four social media accounts for three years “to publicly and anonymously slander numerous Christian leaders, including faithful pastors (some of whom have spoken at G3 conferences).”
That was the finding of elders at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church, where Buice served as pastor. He repeatedly denied the accusations until elders presented him with “irrefutable evidence.” Buice was placed on “indefinite leave” from the church.
Although G3 Ministries originally said content by Buice would remain on its website, it has since removed it. “Due to the public and egregious nature of the sin,” said board members, “we believe Josh Buice has stained the mission and character of G3 Ministries.”
In addition, the organization canceled all its workshops for 2025, as well as the national G3 conference that was scheduled for September. The annual event, which attracts thousands of attendees, features speakers such as Voddie Baucham, Ken Ham, Phil Johnson, and Owen Strachan.
Jeffrey Johnson, president of Grace Bible Theological Seminary, said he “could not be more pleased” by Aniol’s appointment as G3 president. “As one who has greatly benefited from G3 Ministries over the years, and as one who has been encouraged by their transparency and integrity in handling difficult situations, I am glad to stand with them today,” said Johnson. “Standing firm in the truth of the gospel with humility is the way forward, and these essential leadership traits are embodied in Dr. Aniol.”
