ICE Battle With ‘South Park’ Heats Up
In related news, the Department of Homeland Security is using an ICE-themed screengrab from this week’s “South Park” trailer to encourage Americans to “JOIN.ICE.GOV.” Responding to that post, the show asked, “Wait, so we ARE relevant?”
After the Season 27 premiere of “South Park” showed President Trump naked and in bed with Satan, a White House spokesperson said the often-raunchy animated show “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

A new “South Park” episode that airs tonight (Aug. 6) lampoons ICE and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. When character Mr. Mackay loses his job, he joins forces with immigration enforcement.
In a statement, the DHS thanked “South Park” for publicizing ICE recruitment efforts. “We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” said a spokesperson, listing the same benefits that Cain highlighted in his video.
Dean Cain Clarifies ICE Comments
After Cain’s video went viral, multiple news outlets reported that the actor had joined ICE. In a Fox News interview on Aug. 6, host Jesse Watters asked Cain what his duties would be at ICE. Cain replied:
This is all your fault, by the way. I put out a video yesterday. I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer. I wasn’t part of ICE. But once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy. So now I’ve spoken with some officials at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP. So they’ll have 80,001 recruits for their 10,000 positions.
When Watters asked Cain if he’d be “hopping out of ICE vans and apprehending guys,” Cain said he’ll do whatever the director wants. “I somehow doubt I’ll be in that position [of apprehending],” he added, “but I would be there in a heartbeat. These brave men and women need someone to stand up for them.”
After Cain clarified that his video was for promotional purposes, some fans pushed back. One wrote:
I like Dean Cain, but this is nothing but a promotional stunt. It promotes ICE, and it gets Dean Cain attention, which is what actors thrive on. He’s not going into harm’s way, nor is he going to perform law enforcement duties. He won’t be assigned to an ICE unit except as a publicity stunt, if at all.
Clarification: This article has been updated to clarify that Cain was promoting ICE and encouraging other people to assist with law enforcement.
