Peters criticized church leaders in Trump’s inner circle:
All these “prophets” like Paula White, Kenneth Copeland, [Jentezen Franklin], Che Ahn, etc. giddy over their access to the White House (and men who know these to be false prophets but choose to endorse them or at least turn a willful blind eye to them – I’m looking at you Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham and others) have done Mr. Trump no favors whatsoever.
Pastor Todd Coconato made similar comments about Trump’s beliefs.
“I see people mocking President Trump online for what he said about getting to heaven,” Coconato said. “But to me, I don’t think it’s something that we should be critical of him for at all. It actually really grieves me. It makes me feel very bad!”
Coconato asked, “How many pastors have been around President Trump? Are those that are around him now sharing these things with him?”
“I pray that people are sharing the true gospel and explaining to President Trump how to receive Jesus and get to heaven,” he continued. “He’s a good man. He’s helping our country in many, many ways.”
“We need to continue to pray for him. We should not mock him for this! Pray for him on his faith journey,” Coconato added. “I believe he will someday be a very powerful and on fire man of God! God has His hand on this man.”
Trump’s former attorney Jenna Ellis, who also represented John MacArthur during the COVID-19 lockdowns, refuted political commentator Benny Johnson, who said Trump’s words about heaven were “powerful.”
“This isn’t powerful, it’s sad. President Trump has had many faithful Christians around him who have told him the truth of the gospel (I know, I’ve been one of them and I’ve been in the room),” Ellis said. “That it is not by works that we attain salvation; only through confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and by His righteousness are we saved (Romans 1).”
Wow. President Trump tells Fox News he hopes his efforts to end wars will bring him closer to Heaven.
This is powerful. Watch:
“I just want to end it. If i can save seven thousand people a week from getting killed, that’s pretty good. I want to get to heaven if possible. I’m… pic.twitter.com/jcrQy4ixtT
