Dove Award-winning artist Matthew West posted a social media video apologizing to Forrest Frank for his “Honey” song, which made light of Christian artists who created songs following injuries.
Earlier this month, West, who is known for making funny videos that poke fun at himself, created a video telling fans that a bee stung him on his pinky and that he, like Frank, decided to turn “lemons into lemonade.”
“Hey guys, just little update on my end, it’s clear that the artist community is under attack, because Forest Frank breaks his back, Crowder broke his leg, and I hate to let you guys know, but I’m the latest that had suffered an injury,” West said. He then joked, “I got stung by a bee on my pinky finger.” West showed some funny camera footage of himself swatting in the air and falling in a swimming pool.
West continued, “So I appreciate all your prayers. But man, I’m gonna do what Forrest did. I’m gonna turn these lemons into lemonade, seeing the glass half full and just working up some beats.”
West then sang:
When life gave Forrest lemons, he made lemonade. Crowder standing on the rock with a broken leg. This ain’t a competition, but my injury is worse. I got stung by a bee, and now my pinky hurts. Don’t laugh, because it ain’t funny when life sings you just like a bee. Just remember, bees make honey, honey, honey. Bees make honey, honey, honey. My God’s so money, money, money. He made bees that make honey, honey, honey.
West concluded his parody video by saying, “It’s all how you look at it, man. When life stings you like a bee just remember, bees make honey.”
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Frank posted a video responding to “Reckless Love” singer Cory Asbury and others on social media after they poked fun at what Frank described as “probably the most traumatic moment of my life.”

The moment Frank was referring to was when he fractured both his L3 and L4 vertebrae after falling off his skateboard in July. Frank created two hit songs before claiming he was miraculously healed just fourteen days after the accident. Frank then collaborated with David Crowder on a song after Crowder tagged him in a post sharing that he had broken his leg.
