Wells prayed, “We believe you are who you say you are—and that is a healer, a comforter, an ever-present help in a time of trouble.”

“My brother!” Crowder replied to a video of the prayer. “You are beyond kind! I appreciate you so much for covering for me and leading so well.” He also addressed the people he missed at the event, “Shenandoah County Fair, MY PEOPLE!!!”

Accompanying Wells’ post is a plea from Wells to all those viewing the concert clip: “Would you pray for @crowder’s rapid healing with us?”

Thousands of fans have seen the clip and interacted with the post—mostly affirming both Wells and Crowder and noting that the world needs to see more of this interaction.

Fans React to Crowder’s Injury and Wells’ Concert Prayer

After his own broken back provided an opportunity to write some new songs, Forrest Frank looked beyond his injury for inspiration. Frank wrote a song specifically for Crowder after Crowder broke his leg.

Frank invited Crowder to share notes and input before Frank sang the gist of the song. “I put my faith in Jesus. I put my trust in God,” Frank sang. “All other ground is sinking sand, so I’m standing on the rock. I’m standing on the rock. I’m standing on the rock—rock—rock—rock.”

After Tauren Wells stopped the concert to pray for Crowder, fans continued to pray for Crowder’s healing and affirmed Wells.

“Thank you Jesus!!!!!!” posted one fan. “So sweet and what our world needs to see!! Christian brothers rising up!”

Another addressed the fear that Wells initially faced, saying, “I hate that our wold is such that fear could stop a moment like this… and often created by other brothers and sisters.” The fan continued to thank Wells for “obeying the Spirit and leading out in prayer for anyone!!”

“I’m so glad I was able to be at this concert last night,” mentioned someone else. “Last night was such a blessing.”
