How often do you go to church wanting to be ministered to? Do you usually go as a consumer? Or do you go with open eyes and a heart open to the Holy Spirit’s moving?

When you’re digging deep into God’s word, the Lord will shape, mature and transform you. The changes aren’t necessarily immediately noticeable, but they’re happening through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why do people gossip? I have worked with so many churches where gossip—drama—is a leading cause of why the church isn’t healthy, isn’t growing and isn’t accomplishing all God has for the church.

Everyone is going to face marriage problems. But when we forget that evil exists within our own hearts and we stop ordering our thinking and feeling around God, we open the door to all kinds of evil in our marriages.

Looking back, I am reminded that effective leadership is not in all the responsibilities or tasks we have, but rather in how well we develop the processes needed to accomplish them with excellence. We often lose sight of the fact that leadership, at its most basic level, involves the leading of people.

Prayer is essential because worship is essential. It’s impossible to properly worship God without prayer.

More than 40 million people today are suffering as slaves. The International Justice Mission believes the church, with God’s help, can end slavery.

Although we’ll never actually know the wonder of heaven until we get there, God gives us several hints throughout the Bible. I like to call these the “sneak peeks” into what eternal life will look like for us.
