Praise and worship occupy a special place in the hearts of believers everywhere. Whether it’s the private experience of God’s near-ness or the corporate experience of a shared event, praise and worship is one of God’s means of grace. It unites believers throughout a city—and indeed around the world!
The Internet has made access to praise and worship available to nearly everyone. We have seen an explosion of streaming options, videos, music services, and live opportunities to express our hearts to God, thanking him for his mercy and grace, rejoicing in the forgiveness of sin, and an awareness of our brother-and-sisterhood with people of every tribe, race, and tongue. Indeed, the book of Revelation provides a picture of the age to come: Heaven is filled with praise and worship of all kinds!
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9-10)
