During a recent interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, shared that she hasn’t watched, nor ever will watch, the video of her husband’s assassination that immediately flooded social media following the shooting.

On Sept. 10, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) cofounder Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed while he was speaking during his The American Comeback Tour stop at Utah Valley University.

Charlie and Erika, 36, were married in May 2021. The Kirks have two children under the age of 4.

“I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it,” Erika told Watters. “There’s certain things you see in life that you can never unsee. There’s certain things in your life that mark your soul forever.”

Erika expressed that not only does she never want to view the video of her husband’s assassination but she also doesn’t want her children to see it either. “I don’t want my husband’s public assassination to be something I ever see,” she said. I” don’t want my kids to ever see that.”

Erika questioned anyone who would enjoy watching a video of someone getting killed, saying, “For people who actually enjoy watching that, which is quite literally sick…what if that was your father or your brother or your sister? Would perspectives shift there?”

“We are human,” said Erika. “Life is fragile, and there is so much beauty in this world—why would you waste any portion of your life looking at something so evil?”

Watters questioned whether Erika believes that Charlie’s comments about “trans violence” right before he was murdered were a coincidence.

Erika replied, “I don’t believe in coincidences.”
