Pastor and Christian hip-hop (CHH) artist Trip Lee is stepping out of his comfort zone and releasing a worship-focused project designed specifically for congregational singing.
Trip Lee made the announcement during a recent episode of the “Southside Rabbi Podcast” alongside fellow Christian rapper KB. Trip Lee’s last project, “The Epilogue,” was released in 2023.
“It has been something that’s on my heart for a while,” Trip Lee said. As people have asked him why he chose to do something outside of his normal genre, Trip Lee is attributing it to his “creative ambition.”

“This worship project is something I’m really excited to share with people,” he said. “Now, when people hear worship project, maybe they’ll think, well, now it’s just rapping and maybe some worshipy hooks. Or maybe it’s just Trip Lee singing.” He clarified, “No. This is meant to be songs that I’ve written for Christians to sing together. I want churches to be able to sing these. I want small groups to be able to sing these.”
While Trip Lee has written and produced the project, he won’t be personally included in every track. “I’ve brought in other people to sing,” he explained.
“I think Scripture teaches really clearly [that] you were made by God to make much of God. That’s what you exist for, to point to the bigness, the goodness, the superiority, the majesty, the strength of God. That’s what your life is about,” the rapper said. So, he added, “This worship expression is called ‘Brag Worship.’”

Trip Lee shared that the project will include Naomi Raine (formerly of Maverick City Music), Madison Ryann Ward, DOE, Jonathan Traylor, Taylor Hill, and Leah Smith.
“It’s a very unusual kind of project for me to do. It’s very vulnerable,” he expressed. “I’m very excited, bro. We’ll see how people respond.”
