Hulk Hogan tributes have been flooding social media ever since the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer’s death on Thursday (July 24).

Hogan, who was 71, died after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest while at his home in Clearwater, Florida. The electrifying entertainer recently shared that he became a Christian as a teenager but “didn’t completely surrender” his life to Jesus until later in life.

In 2023, Hogan described getting baptized alongside some of his family members as the “greatest day of my life.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, recalled the time he met Hogan and had to follow him by leading a prayer at last year’s Republican National Convention.

“I was saddened to read that Hulk Hogan passed away today,” Graham posted on social media. “I had the privilege of being with him last year at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and was able to talk with him briefly backstage. What a character! He went on stage just before I did, and after he ripped his shirt off, I wondered how in the world I would follow that!”

Graham then shared that Hogan was recently baptized. “He and his wife Sky were baptized at their church in 2023,” Graham said. “When posting about his baptism, he said, ‘Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life.” I know his family would appreciate your prayers during this time.’”

Fellow wrestler Ric Flair shared how Hogan visited him in the hospital and prayed by his bedside when doctors gave him a two percent change of living. “I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @hulkhogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father!”

“Our friendship has meant the world to me,” Flair continued. “He was always there for me even when I didn’t ask for him to be. He was one of the first to visit me when I was in the hospital with a 2% chance of living, and he prayed by my bedside. Hulk also lent me money when Reid was sick. Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you! Rest in peace my friend! 🙏🏻”

“Hulk Hogan was a genuine, uniquely American creation,” Turning Point USA’s founder and president Charlie Kirk posted on social media. “Fearlessly original. Flawed but unbowed. He had the courage to stand on his own principles, and he never stopped fighting for his country. An American icon. He will be missed.

Kirk wrote in another post that showed video of Hogan’s baptism, “Hulk Hogan left us with many memories, but his greatest legacy is that 18 months ago, he and his wife were baptized and gave their lives to Jesus Christ: ‘Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life. No worries, no hate, no judgment…only love.’ ”
