Say: Here’s the last verse. Read Romans 8:15-16The word abba is a special Greek word that children used to talk to their fathers. It’s very personal, like our word daddy. Distribute the wafer cookies, frosting, and plastic knives. Stick two cookies together with frosting to remember how close you are to God. Let kids eat their cookies.

Ask:

  • How is God like your dad?
  • Why do you think God wants us to feel so close to him?

Say: This Father’s Day, remember to thank your dad or someone who loves you like a dad for the way he shows you God’s love. And remember that all of us—even people whose dads aren’t with them—have a heavenly Father who loves us very much.
