How Will This Affect My Own Family?
Is quitting the best option for my family situation? It may be or may not be.
What is my husband or wife saying? How do my kids feel about this?
Things have to be happy at home about this. If your family is not behind you stepping away, it will be hard to make the adjustment.
Do I Have a Clear Pathway to a Next Step?
When God shuts one door he normally opens another door.
Can I see the door?
It is a journey of faith. When you step out in faith and surrender to God, he will shine the light ahead for you.
God let’s us see one step at a time.
What Does God Want Me To Do?
I believe this is the most important question you can ask. What is God’s will for my life? Where is he leading me? Is he telling me to stay where I am? Is he telling me that he wants me to go on a new adventure?
Spend time with God in prayer. Spend time seeking his will for your life. Spend time reading his Word and getting direction from it. Listen for the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit that will guide you.
I often say that the best way to be successful in ministry is to stay in ministry. I believe this rings true in children’s ministry.
I am in children’s ministry for the long haul. Yes…I have felt like quitting many times, but I have kept going. I want to break the tape at the finish line and finish strong.
I know you do as well. The secret is to stay close to Jesus and follow his leading. You got this. You can do this. Just take it one day…one hour…one minute at a time.
I’ll see you at the finish line.
