‘The Chosen’ Universe Expands

“The Chosen Adventures,” an animated series from 5&2 Studios, is geared toward children as well as adults. Dallas Jenkins, creator and director of “The Chosen,” serves as executive producer of the new project.

Many characters from “The Chosen”—including Jonathan Roumie as Jesus—lend their voices to the animated series.

Creating “The Chosen Adventures” was challenging yet rewarding, Jenkins explained. He said he wanted to add whimsy and warmth to the storytelling without compromising biblical truth. Parents and churches can buy a kit with show-related activities and digital components.

Television and film can remind people of the power of Bible narratives, Jenkins said, especially when those stories are presented from different perspectives. “My hope, ultimately,” he said, “is that seeing Jesus through the eyes of those who actually met him can change and impact you in the same way that [those people] were changed and impacted.”

Jenkins is currently filming Season 6 of the live-action version of “The Chosen.” It focuses on the 24 hours leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion.

Season 6 is expected to release on Prime Video in late 2026, with that season’s finale premiering in theaters on March 12, 2027. As with previous seasons, upcoming episodes of “The Chosen” also will be available to view for free through the show’s app.
