Fans of “The Chosen” will want to make sure to check out a special livestream from Sunday, Aug. 31, in which the show’s creator and director Dallas Jenkins revealed exclusive sneak peeks into upcoming projects in “The Chosen” universe, including a scene from the not yet released Season 6.
One scene Jenkins showed from the upcoming show “The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Grylls” was particularly moving, as it showed actor Elizabeth Tabish facing and overcoming her fears.
“This is amazing,” said Tabish after making it across a chasm in a harness by herself. “I am shaking, though. There is a sense of, you know, if God has us, what can hurt us? And, worst case scenario: I fall to my death. Well, what a wonderful life it was. With God, everything is possible. Anything is possible.”
Dallas Jenkins Gives Glimpse Into Exciting Upcoming Projects
The first scene that Jenkins showed was from “The Chosen Adventures,” an animated adventure comedy series that follows two children named Abby and Joshua who happen to meet a craftsman named Jesus. Abby and Joshua are actually characters from “The Chosen” who are first depicted in Season 1 in an episode titled “Jesus Loves the Little Children.”

The scene Jenkins showed from “The Chosen Adventures” adapts part of that episode—although with some added comedic elements in the form of a talking sheep and pigeon. “This is our animated show that we have been developing and then producing over the last several years,” said Jenkins, “and this is something we are so excited about.”
“The Chosen Adventures” features original “The Chosen” cast members such as Jonathan Roumie (Jesus), Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), Noah James (Andrew), and Paras Patel (Matthew). Other actors in the show include Jordin Sparks (Fish), Paul Walter Hauser (Sheep), and Yvonne Orji (Pigeon). The series will premiere on Prime Video Oct. 17.
Next, Jenkins showed a scene from “The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Grylls.” Bear Grylls is a best-selling author and survivalist probably best known for the show, “Man vs. Wild.” He is a former member of the British Special Forces and at age 23 summited Mount Everest not long after breaking his back in a skydiving accident.
In “The Chosen in the Wild,” Grylls takes “The Chosen” cast members and Jenkins into the wild and pushes them “to the extreme,” Jenkins said.
Grylls is an “extraordinary man,” said Jenkins. “He loves Jesus, he loves the show, and he loves getting to know people, and he really dug deep. And each of these episodes, there’s things that we talked about that we’ve never talked about publicly before, just really beautiful moments.”
