4. Trae Young

Point guard Trae Young is now in his eighth season with the Atlanta Hawks. Even before he had a platform as a pro athlete, Young was telling people about Jesus. In 2016, while still in high school, he posted, “IF you decide to follow Jesus, you will be different from those around you.”

Young, who played one season of college ball at Oklahoma, was drafted fifth overall in 2018. Months later, he posted, “I Thank God For Everything Constantly.” During a 2019 interview, Young described himself as “a big believer in Christ,” saying God helps him through the ups and downs of playing pro basketball.

After having his first-ever surgery in 2024, Young posted, “Made it through. … I’ll be ready when the time is right!” He added the words of 1 Corinthians 15:10—“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”
