Detroit Pistons shooting guard Jaden Ivey, 23, is entering his fourth pro season, after playing two years at Purdue. The married father of three has been battling injuries while waiting for a contract extension.

After getting baptized in June 2024, Ivey wrote that he’s “nothing without Jesus.” Wife Caitlyn Ivey, who was also baptized, wrote, “A new life—Mark 16:16.”

Jaden Ivey, the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, has said it’s a “blessing” to play a sport he loves. During a postgame press conference last year, the athlete urged people to repent and believe in Jesus.

“Jesus is the way, the truth, the life,” said Ivey, quoting John 14:6. “The kingdom of heaven is near. Jesus is coming back, and we all have to repent for our sins. And we have to put our faith in Jesus.” He concluded, “It’s time to wake up if you haven’t put your faith in Jesus Christ.”
