Woman Accuses Pastor Bryan Meadows of Adult Clergy Sexual Abuse

This week, Stephanie Prescott came forward to say she is the woman who had the lengthy relationship with Pastor Bryan Meadows. But the 34-year-old, who previously was on staff at Embassy City Church, described it as “grooming, abuse of power, and clergy sexual abuse.”

Prescott told The Roys Report she came forward to “help other women learn from this.” Previously, she had talked about experiencing abuse without naming the alleged perpetrator. Prescott also wrote a book about spiritual abuse.

When Meadows, who was six years her senior, first approached her, Prescott said she felt shocked and confused. She called the relationship a “13-year-long enmeshment” that contained “so many layers of betrayal [and] boundary crossing.”

Prescott, who was 19 when the relationship began, said her “guard was let down” and she needed the pastor’s “spiritual fathering.” Even after Meadows performed Prescott’s wedding ceremony to another man, the affair continued.

Prescott told The Roys Report she felt powerless, alleging that Meadows threw a tantrum whenever she tried to end the relationship. When Meadows’ infidelity was exposed, Prescott said, she experienced “deliverance” and “relief.”

But in the process, she also lost her marriage, her pastor, and her ministry job. Prescott claimed that Embassy City Church leaders failed to meet with her; instead, they forced her to resign and focused on restoring Meadows.

Prescott is now an associate pastor at Reformation Culture Atlanta, led by Bishop Demetrius Sinegal. While interviewing Prescott on YouTube last summer, the bishop asked what leads to spiritual abuse in churches. “Idolizing the one man instead of the many different parts of the body,” she replied, referencing “toxic submission.”

Embassy City Church to Bryan Meadows: ‘We Got Your Back’

Pastor Bryan Meadows didn’t answer questions from The Roys Report on the record. ChurchLeaders contacted Meadows and Embassy City Church and will update this article with any replies.

According to The Roys Report, Meadows made no mention during March 1 worship about his bombshell interview. But during the service, a fellow pastor gave Meadows and his wife a gift, saying, “We got your back. We really appreciate everything you do.”

Meadows’ admission of adultery drew sharp criticism online, especially from Black Christian influencers. Janice Mylton, who had previously called out the pastor, accused him of being “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” and filled with “excuses.”

Denise Dawidowski said she stopped listening to Meadows’ sermons after realizing he was conceited and “prideful.” On YouTube, she said, “Sir, you had a side chick. You were over a church. You had a wife. Now you want to pat yourself on the back as a provider.”

Below the YouTube video of MacDonald’s podcast, someone commented, “[Meadows] has a masters degree in gaslighting. The interviewer did a great job calling him out on his mess.” Other people noted they heard no repentance from Meadows.
