“I’m 73 years old. No president in my lifetime has done what President Trump has done, okay? We will never have another president like him,” Graham said. “And I believe God has raised him up for such a time as this, like Queen Esther.”

Speaking of the upcoming midterm elections, Graham said, “It’s extremely important that we get behind candidates who support President Trump’s agenda. And it’s important that we get these people elected.”

“President Trump is not on the ballot, but his policies are,” Graham argued. “And we need to have a united front and go out there and win these midterms. If we don’t, we’re going to be through.”

Graham went on to invite CPAC attendees to place their faith in Jesus. At the conclusion of his invitation, Graham said, “God loves you. He loves this country. And I love Donald Trump.”

“Is he perfect? No. But I love that guy. I love him. And we’ll only have one chance at this. We’ll never get another president like Donald Trump, never,” Graham said. “And that’s why it’s important that we do everything we can to try to get him reelected.”

“He stands not only for religious freedom; he stands up for Christians like no president we’ve ever had. He’s not afraid. He’s not ashamed of the name of Jesus Christ,” Graham continued. “Other people are ashamed. He’s not ashamed. And I just appreciate that so much about him.”

In an email to ChurchLeaders, Graham clarified that he intended to say that voters should seek to reelect “Trump’s policies” rather than Trump himself.

“It was a privilege to speak at CPAC,” Graham said. “Early in my remarks, I made the point that ‘President Trump is not on the ballot, but his policies are.’ As I closed, I meant to say that we need to re-elect President Trump’s policies, but misspoke. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify any confusion.”
