“Neither was there any ‘cover-up,’ as there was nothing to be covered up,” the complaint states, noting that the woman spoke with coworkers, medical personnel, and law enforcement at the time.

The lawsuit says multiple individuals were aware of the situation, including tour personnel and hospital staff, and that the circumstances were not hidden.

The plaintiffs allege that TRR’s published reports ignored key evidence, including police findings and prior statements, while presenting the incident as rape.

“The Article spread through the Christian community. It told a devastating but false story,” the complaint says.

The Newsboys argue the allegations resurfaced more than a decade after the incident and was used to damage their reputation and business.
