The actor gave his entire life over to God, something he said he had never done before. “And, that day, I received this incomprehensible financial miracle that changed my life,” he said. “Three months later, I booked ‘The Chosen.’”

“I will spend every waking moment I can trying to live for Christ, but in doing so, it changes how you live your life. It’s changed how I live my life,” Roumie said in the reel. The reel went on to show ways Roumie’s life has changed, including various public appearances he has made and milestones “The Chosen” has achieved.

“Every day, I realize how far I have to go to be more like him,” said the actor, “to let him know how grateful I am.”

In the caption of his reel, Roumie quoted Isaiah 38:10-14 and verses 17-20, which say in part:

My dwelling, like a shepherd’s tent, is struck down and borne away from me; you have folded up my life, like a weaver who severs the last thread. Day and night you give me over to torment; I cry out until the dawn. Like a lion he breaks all my bones; day and night you give me over to torment. Like a swallow I utter shrill cries…The living, the living give you thanks, as I do today. Fathers declare to their sons, O God, your faithfulness. The Lord is our savior; we shall sing to stringed instruments in the house of the Lord all the days of our life.

Roumie also quoted Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28, which says, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
