Musk Lifts Trump Twitter Ban, Posts Sexually Suggestive Religious Meme With Bible Quote

As Trump’s future plans for his Twitter presence remain in question, he is just one among many high profile Twitter users to be reinstated, many of whom widely regarded as problematic or having inflicted harm with their words.

Among those who have not been reinstated is Alex Jones, conspiracy theorist and far-right internet personality who was recently sued by parents of victims in the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, which claimed the lives of 28, most of whom were ages seven and under.

Jones had persistently promoted a conspiracy theory that the shooting was a hoax, excoriating parents of victims, actions for which he now has legal judgments against him totaling $1.44 billion.

In response to the question of whether he would reinstate Jones, Musk tweeted, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven,” a quotation of Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:14

“My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat. I have no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics or fame,” Musk went on to clarify, apparently shutting the door on the possibility of Jones’ account being reinstated.

For his part, Musk appears to be enjoying the Twitter fanfare, repeatedly boasting with claims that the platform is experiencing record-high usage numbers. It is unclear whether those claims are accurate.

“Twitter is fun,” Musk said on Monday.
