Mitchell is now a youth pastor at Spirit Food Christian Center in Winnetka, California. On Dec. 8, 2019, he posted on Instagram, celebrating this new step in his life. “Officially became a licensed pastor last weekend,” he wrote. “Blessed and thankful for my Spirit Food Family and thank you Pastor Zeigler for seeing the calling of God on my life and trusting me with your Youth Department.” The church’s website says Mitchell “speaks to youth on a weekly basis across the country encouraging them to love God and follow their dreams.”
In 2021, Mitchell published a devotional titled, “Blessed Mode: 90 Days to Level Up Your Faith.” The book focuses on helping readers experience God’s power and presence, become aware of his gifts, and share his blessings with other people.
Mitchell encourages people to spend time with God first thing in the morning and to entrust their anxiety and negative thoughts to him. “[God] only wants the best for us and for us to be happy,” he says. “And I want everyone to know that they’re beautifully and wonderfully made. You have to say, ‘Today is the day that the Lord has made, and I will keep my joy. I will keep my peace no matter what.’ Prepare for your day.”
