Christian Players in Super Bowl LVIII: Kansas City Chiefs

L’Jarius Sneed  

L’Jarius Sneed, a 27-year-old cornerback for the Chiefs, has played for Kansas City since 2020. He had a key role in the Jan. 28 AFC Championship Game, knocking the ball away from a Baltimore Ravens player at the goal line to prevent a touchdown.

Sneed credits his faith in God with sustaining him through challenges and injuries. He has described how he prays, trusting that “with God, anything is possible.”

Both of Sneed’s parents were incarcerated during the first six years of his life. Last spring, when Sneed’s hometown of Minden, Louisiana, honored the athlete, his mother, Jane Sneed thanked God and the community for all the support.

“First, give honor to God, who is the head of our lives,” she said. “Where we are is only because of who God is.” She encouraged local families to “push” and “pray for” their children, adding, “There’s nothing too hard for God.”
