On May 19, Whitehead posted a series of videos on Instagram captioned “Victory Lap” but has not posted any new videos on the platform since that day.
According to the Associated Press, Judge Lorna G. Schofield told Whitehead at his sentencing that he did not appear to be penitent for his actions and that the length of his prison sentence was necessary to prevent him from committing additional crimes. “You don’t seem to have an appreciation of the impact of your crimes,” she said.
Whitehead asked to avoid the prison term, saying, “Your honor, I am an honorable man and my children need me.” He also said he was “very remorseful.”
In addition to his nine-year prison sentence and the financial penalties, Whitehead was sentenced to three years of supervised release.
