The brothers also shared a story they think no one has shared before about their father and Trump. One time, said Jase, Trump called Phil right as Phil was about to speak at an event. Instead of taking Trump’s call, Phil said, “Tell him I’ll call him back. I’m fixing to preach.”
“Then everybody was like, ‘Well, how are you gonna to call him back?’” said Jase. “And he’s like, ‘Yeah, that’s a good point.’” But Trump ended up calling Phil back the next day.
Alan and Jase briefly discussed the “Duck Dynasty” revival, and Jase shared, “I guess I can say this—I think you will see my dad at some point.”
When Stuckey asked how their mother, Kay, was doing, Alan said, “Well, that’s another developing story.”
“She keeps falling,” said Jase. Falling is now “a common thing” for her, he said. “She cannot stay upright.”

About a week ago at the time of the podcast recording, Kay took a particularly bad fall. “She severely cut her leg,” Jase said. It was so bad that when he received a picture of her wound and the news that she was on her way to the hospital, he assumed her injury was “life-threatening.” It was “to the bone on her leg, right at her kneecap.”
Thankfully, she is doing ok now, although her leg is in a brace and she received stitches. “She’s doing better,” Jase said. “She really seems to be doing well.”
