Social Media Users Debate White House Prayer Session
While sharing the photo on X, author and evangelist Justin Peters wrote, “This is being led by Paula White, one of the most egregious & obvious false teachers ever to disgrace the name of Christ.” He added, “I may vote with a false teacher, but I will never, ever, under any circumstances, pray with one or participate in any spiritual endeavor of any kind with one.”
In reply to Peters, Missouri Pastor Malachi O’Brien wrote, “Jesus is moving in this nation with whom he chooses and how he chooses…regardless of your opinion. You are missing the beauty of He is doing. Instead of making these moments a moment of attack…how about praising God for what is occurring.”

Peters responded with a list of seven reasons he “will give neither praise nor thanks for a false teacher having access to the President.” These included “objective heresy,” exploitation, and twisting Scripture for “personal enrichment.”
Preacher Tito Sotolongo wrote to O’Brien, “I see no wrong in pointing out in love a person who could do damage against a love of God because of the stamp of approval her cabinet position gives her. I pray she does her job well ([not] clear yet to what is it) w/minimal damage.”
Questions About Power and Politics
References to Christian nationalism and political power appeared in many people’s comments. Writer Mikale Olson posted, “Imagine if it were Russell Moore or Ray Ortlund being led by Paula White—the ‘Christian Nationalist’ crowd would be quick to call them sellouts, traitors, leftists, or ungodly (to which I’d agree). But when it’s one of their own (William Wolfe), they cheer. Strange, innit?”
Blake Callens, author of “The Case Against Christian Nationalism,” wrote, “I don’t want to hear one [Christian nationalist] cheering William Wolfe for lobbying himself into a position under Paula White complain that my church has a female Children’s Pastor ever again. You’ve proven that you’ll toss all of your supposed principles aside for a piece of political clout.”
Someone else commented, “Wrong. No way around it. However, when your primary goal is power and influence, then you make concessions you shouldn’t make.”
Other people took a middle-ground approach. “Two things can be true,” wrote Florida Pastor Adam Page. “I am happy with @ostrachan & @William_E_Wolfe representing good theology in that circle. I don’t believe their presence means an alignment with the demon seed that is @Paula_White.”
However, Page, added, “I would advise brothers to make appropriate waves when invited. Call her out and tell her to go home. She’s an abomination and voicing that would eliminate any false accusation of theological alignment.”
“Julie,” who mentions attending a G3 Ministry Conference, posted, “It occurs to me that if every doctrinally sound Christian refuses to be involved in any matters of faith in a given administration unless everyone else involved be likeminded, then our President will continue to have exactly zero godly Christian advisors.”
