“The point is that it can be called a ‘cumulative argument’ because the arguments accumulate, but it can also be called an ‘argument to the best explanation,’” said Sanger. “So the idea is, when we look back at all of the different premises of the arguments that I just gave you, and we think of different possible explanations for why they are as they are…there’s really only two things on offer that are interesting.”
Those two conclusions are, “There is God and…throwing up your hands and saying, ‘There is no explanation at all for any of these things.’”
Lecrae wanted to know how, after all of his intellectual processing of these ideas, Sanger came to the “existential experience that ignites this, these truths, to then bring about faith.”
Calling that a “really hard” but “good question,” Sanger replied, “That’s the work of God.”
“There are certain things that people can do if they’re, like, open to the experience, but then that’s God drawing them to those experiences,” said Sanger. “For me, I had a number of different ‘coincidences’ that led me to read the Bible, right? And that is the Word of God, I think now. But I think I was drawn.”
