“But it’s also getting the Renewed Hope operations more and more and more, and we’re having more and more every day, but it’s also, you know, creating awareness,” he continued. “I don’t want awareness for awareness’s sake. I want people to be aware so we act to do something. I think we really have to change laws and legislation.”

As the two continued discussing the topic, Tebow said he thought it was important to point out that not only are biological fathers the top offenders but offenders are primarily “middle-aged, Caucasian men.”

“I think that it is time that we call them out like that,” said Tebow. “We can’t stand by and stand back. We have to stand up and say, not only are we not doing our job as men, it’s actually the opposite. Instead of being defenders and protectors of our families, we’re hurting and abusing.”

He mentioned learning of a case of a man convicted of abusing his own 18-month-old and 9-month-old children. “And I was sitting there and, just, horror, right?” Tebow said. “But then we’re looking at what he was doing it on, and he was doing it on a Florida Gator blanket.”

“And I was thinking, man, it’s probably someone that was rooting for the Gators, probably someone that maybe is a fan or likes the Gators or likes when I played, but no, this is how personal this is,” Tebow said. “Sometimes members of Congress will say to us, ‘But you know, we got to, you know, worry about our backyard.’ No, we’re talking about our backyard! This is our backyard. This is right here.”

He went on to give examples from an operation last year that found perpetrators in the U.S. who worked near kids. One was a professional athlete, and some had ties to law enforcement.

Another case Tebow learned about from a friend who “fights in this space” centered on a 13-year-old girl in Texas who was raped while someone read the Bible. It was believed the reason why was so “that the worst moment of her life would be associated with God’s Word.”

Some of the most gruesome moments of the interview came when Tebow offered a print-out of a dark web conversation recovered by law enforcement to Ryan to read aloud at Ryan’s discretion. The forum, which had been active for two years and had 50 members, was for people who were looking for children, including babies, to rape.

One person offered to sell the others 20 terabytes of CSAM. Another said, “DM me, and I could show you how to abuse your own kids and get away with it.” Ryan read part of the text of the forum with some difficulty before stopping.
