“It’s what we’re facing in our backyard,” said Tebow. “There’s a lot of things that are hurtful and disturbing about it.”
“One of the things that we’re seeing grow bit by bit,” he said, “is offenders that are saying, instead of finding their next victim…let’s just grow our next victim—meaning, have a child and grow them.”
There was a long period of silence between the two men after that statement.
“What can parents do to protect their kids?” Ryan asked later on.
“I don’t want to be doom and gloom, but I just want to tell parents, please be the protector that you’re called to be. And sometimes maybe…that means you’re the bad guy, and you don’t give them the same access,” said Tebow. “But would you please look into some of the more improving devices to help keep kids safe to get them on safer platforms…I really believe that it is a terrible evil that we have to fight back against, and it has to be as a whole.”
As their interview was wrapping up, Ryan asked Tebow, “What can people do to help what you’re doing?”

“I think, pray,” said Tebow. “Talk with their families, protect their kids, protect their neighbors’ kids, look out for each other. Be a protector.”
Quoting 1 Corinthians 13, Tebow said, “Love always protects, always believes, always hopes, always endures. And as a community, we need to protect, protect one another. We need to protect the most vulnerable.”
“Everyone has a different skill set, resource ability—use it,” he added. “Use it for good. Step up.”
“That doesn’t mean you have to stand with us, but stand for good. Stand for the most vulnerable,” he said. “If there’s some specific ways they want to be involved with us, I think one of them could just be, call your local congressman or woman and say, ‘Pass the Renewed Hope Act and protect our children.’”

Tebow’s wife Demi-Leigh is pregnant with their daughter, and Tebow mentioned that while the couple has not yet revealed their daughter’s name, her middle name comes from “one of the youngest girls we’ve ever been able to bring out of this evil and care for.” Tebow said this girl was rescued at 25 days old.

“It’s beautiful that you did that, man,” said Ryan. “Your daughter is going to be a special person.”
“All these kids are so special,” said Tebow, “made in God’s image, and so many times we treat them as if they’re trash, when they’re really God’s treasure.”
“If we could take all of these lives that have gone through such torture, but they can know how treasured they are by God,” he said, “that would be everything.”
