While going on record with The Roys Report, Anthem said:
There are three types of people in Nashville: Those who know the stories about Tait, are survivors and are terrified; Those who validate the stories about Tait, believe them to be true and wait for the day justice happens; And those who will cash a check with Tait despite knowing the truth.
‘I Passed Out’—Survivor Claims Tait Drugged and Sexually Abused Him
Adam, a survivor who chose not to be identified by his real name, claims that he, like Davis, was drugged by Tait and sexually abused. Adam was introduced to Tait at the age of 22 in 2004. He was a member of a Christian rock band and described Tait as “the Christian Elvis, the GOAT.”
One night, friends dropped Adam off at a bar to meet Tait. Adam recalled that one of his friends told him, “Don’t get molested!”
Later that night, while at Tait’s house, Adam claims that he and Tait made a run to the store for more alcohol. When they returned, it was just the two of them and they drank some more. Adam told The Guardian that he suddenly became very sleepy, and he recalls Tait telling him, “It’s OK, just go to sleep.” Adam said Tait then “laid my head on his lap.”
Adam claims he woke up in “[Tait’s] bed, my pants unzipped, and [Tait] was jerking me off.” Adam alleges, “I passed out again, then woke up, wondering: ‘What the f**k is happening?’ I went to the bathroom and had a panic attack, asking myself, ‘Am I supposed to go there and beat him up? Or am I supposed to play it cool?’”
Adam later told his girlfriend and other friends what Tait had done to him. Some of those friends were mutual friends with Tait. “Some of them stopped hanging out with me after that,” Adam told The Guardian. “Which hurt and made me afraid.”
Referring to Tait, Adam said, “This person has stolen a little piece of our souls.”
‘It Wasn’t Subtle’—Survivor Alleges Tait Grabbed His Crotch
Another survivor, who chose to go by the name Gabriel, was a 19-year-old aspiring Christian musician in 2004. Gabriel claims that Tait introduced him to drugs and alcohol. Gabriel alleges that one night after consuming alcohol and drugs at Tait’s house, Tait made an unwanted advance towards him while they were both in the hot tub.
“[Tait] grabbed my crotch and tried to kiss me at the same time. It wasn’t subtle, and it was out of nowhere,” Gabriel said. “I asked him, ‘What the hell is going on?’ He said he was just joking, but then he did it again.”
Gabriel claims that he then “jumped out of the pool and drove home” and said that he “shouldn’t have,” because he was “more intoxicated than [he’s] ever been.” But Gabriel explained, “That’s how scared I was.”
