“My faith and my family is what’s most important to me,” said Scheffler.

While he has worked hard his entire life towards his pro golfing career, Scheffler has kept his job in perspective.

“If my golf ever started affecting my home life or it ever affected the relationship I have with  my wife or with my son,” imagined Scheffler, “that’s going to be the last day that I play out here for a living.”

After Scheffler won the 2024 Masters, he said, “I have been given a gift of this talent, and I use it for God’s glory. That’s pretty much it.”

“I try to live as normal a life as possible because I feel like a normal guy. I have the same friends I had growing up,” said Scheffler. “I don’t think that I’m anything special because some weeks I’m better at shooting a lower score than other guys are.”

A video clip of Scheffler’s press conference has been shared on many platforms with more than 350,000 views. Numerous commenters described Scheffler’s remarks as “refreshing” and “humble,” noting that he has already “won at life.”

“Humility is discouraged in sports today. Everyone is encouraged to promote themselves and grab as much attention as possible to get as many endorsements as possible,” explained Christian sports influencer T.J. Moe. “Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer on the world and can’t stop talking about how normal he is, how he’s nothing special, and sometimes it’s difficult for him to even understand why he cares so much about golf because it’s of so little importance.”

“He’s the best role model of my lifetime,” added Moe. “I hope he dominates for the next decade so I can show my kids how a real athlete and man of God conducts himself.”

Meredith and Scottie Scheffler’s Son Bennett Stumbled Across the Green to Reach His Dad

Scheffler has shared each win with family—his parents, in-laws, sister, and, especially, his wife and son.

In a viral video, one-year-old Bennett, son of Scottie and Meredith, took a few steps, stumbled, and struggled to reach his dad who was holding his newest trophy.

Other than concerns about a baby crawling across the “chemical laden green,” fans chimed in with encouraging words for the young dad juggling fatherhood and a successful golfing career.

“This is a man who’s got his priorities in order,” said podcaster Riley Gaines. “He won before he ever stepped onto that course. Congrats!”

Fans called Scheffler an “awesome father” and someone who “has his ducks in a row.”

At age 29, Scheffler has been boldly open about how he views the sport of golf and prioritizes his faith and family. He loved sharing his celebratory moment with Bennett and his family.
