Actor, producer, and podcast host Candace Cameron Bure asked her followers to pray for Kirk prior to Kirk’s death and later reposted Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie asking people to do the same. Laurie later posted a video reflecting on Kirk’s life, calling Kirk “a remarkable young man whose life left a lasting imprint on our nation—and on the world.”

“He was a passionate American patriot, a tireless advocate for truth, and a bold voice for freedom,” said Laurie. “But first and foremost, Charlie was a follower of Jesus Christ, a devoted husband, and a loving father.”

Harrison Butker, a vocal Catholic who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, posted, “Thank you for your strong witness for Christ @charliekirk11. Thank you for pursuing truth and leading your family as a husband and father.”

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them,” he added. “May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Butker separately shared a screenshot of a text Kirk had sent him quoting Philippians 3:14: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Among other comments in tribute to Kirk, actor Rob Schneider said, “May Jesus Christ hold Charlie Kirk in his arms tonight and comfort his loved ones left behind. I pray for peace at this time for all Americans and for all of God’s children everywhere.”

“I’m completely shaken and heartbroken by the news of Charlie Kirk’s passing,” said Dove Award-winning Christian artist Anne Wilson. “Charlie was such a bold voice for my generation. He stood for truth when it wasn’t easy and lived his faith with so much courage, and it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that he’s gone because of such a senseless, hate-filled act.”

“Please join me in praying for his wife, his kids, and everyone who loved him,” Wilson said. “Let’s honor Charlie by living boldly for Jesus and by shining light in a world that feels so dark right now.”

Angel Studios posted a statement saying, “We at Angel are heartbroken by the loss of our friend, Charlie Kirk. Charlie was a bold voice who defended Angel in our darkest hours and promoted Angel in our best moments. We were honored to work alongside him.”

Actor and influencer Russell Brand posted, “He was a good, strange Christian man. Dear God please comfort his family. This may be the Turning Point he dedicated his short life to. RIP ‘Right-Wing Rainman.’”

Pastors, Ministry Leaders, and Social Commentators Remember Charlie Kirk

Numerous pastors and ministry leaders have expressed grief and offered prayers for Kirk’s family. “What a tragedy,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “This young man loved his country and invested his time and energy in trying to make it the best it could be. He stood boldly for conservative values and defended free speech for all of us.”

“Most importantly, Charlie loved the Lord Jesus Christ,” Graham said. “Pray for his wife Erika, their two young children, and all of their family.”

Dare 2 Share Ministries founder Greg Stier posted while Kirk was still alive, asking people to join him in praying for Kirk and calling the shooting “horrific.” Following Kirk’s death, Stier posted his thoughts on what to say to young people in light of “the last 24 hour news cycle.” Stier also reposted a post from apologist Lee Strobel, who had reposted a Sept. 6 statement from Charlie Kirk that said, “Jesus defeated death so you can live.”
