7 Albums with Our Favorite Christmas Songs for 2019

1. Chris Tomlin, Christmas Day: Christmas Songs of Worship

This album from Chris Tomlin is a brief but worshipful meditation on the birth of our savior. The chorus of the title track reads:

Sing all you people
The Lord Almighty reigns
Sing every creature of God
Come bless His name
For He is good, for He is good
He was born to conquer the grave
Light of the world
The reason for Christmas Day

Featuring:

Christmas Day
His Name Is Wonderful
Hope of Israel

2. Audrey Assad, Peace

Audrey Assad’s latest offering is almost more of an album for winter, although it culminates in the song “Bells” (“I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”). While a couple songs are about romantic love, several are the singer/songwriter’s take on traditional hymns. “You’re Peace Will Make Us One,” for example, is a re-imagining of, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Featuring:

Bells
Midwinter
Winter Snow

3. Pentatonix, The Best of Pentatonix Christmas

In their unique, a capella style, Pentatonix provides renditions of classic and modern songs that include ones that are not explicitly Christian (“Deck the Halls,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”), as well as ones that are, such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Featuring:

Carol of the Bells
Joyful, Joyful
Little Drummer Boy
