“But it might benefit you to work out some kind of strategy for minimizing the harm you cause to yourself and others,” Callaghan observed.
“Well, definitely to others for sure,” LaBeouf agreed.
“You know, just figuring out what makes you upset,” said Callaghan, “like what situations trigger.”
Near the end of the conversation, LaBeouf said, “Sometimes for the stubborn ones, God don’t give a f*** about what you think. He’s got to beat me into it, dude. I’m never going to choose it. He’s gonna beat the f*** out of me until I get there. But I’m with him.”
Commenting that some people have to “learn the hard way,” Callaghan asked, “Do you ever think that’ll happen to yourself?”
“I’m in it right now,” said LaBeouf, laughing. “Right now.”
