Joseph has also been charged in the state of Arkansas with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Authorities have said that his charge in Florida is unrelated to his and his wife’s charges in Arkansas.

An unnamed source told Us Weekly that authorities did a home investigation after the initial charge against Joseph and that Kendra was arrested when officials found locks on the outside of her children’s rooms. “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside,” said the source. “They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids.”

Both Joseph and Kendra have a court appearance scheduled for April 29 at the Elm Springs District Court. Kendra was scheduled to appear in court the morning of Monday, March 23. 5NEWS reports that her hearing was moved multiple times but that officials would not confirm it happened until the end of the day.

King said that, now, she is focused on compassion for Joseph and Kendra Duggar’s children. She said she had known nothing about the controversy and is finding out information as it comes out to the public. “The fact that Child Protective Services have taken the kids, that right there alone, that sentence alone shows the severity of the situation,” she told TMZ.
