“I had seen a comment from someone saying that, like, they had the same artist project, and I screenshotted it and sent it to my management, and they’re like, ‘We’ll have our attorneys reach out to him…it’s all good,” Frank said. “There’s a bunch of artists named Dawn Patrol and stuff.’” He added, “So I just kept going because everyone’s telling me that we’re all good.”

“So where I understood it to be was that our attorneys were talking to figure out what it could be, and then in the midst of that, the page is gone,” he explained. “So where I stand is this whole thing, this whole project is to serve the Lord and help bring people together in community. “And so rather than fight it and go the legal route and stuff like that, I think the best thing to do would be just to change our name,” said Frank.

Known for trusting Jesus to make lemonade from lemons, Frank asked his millions of social media followers to help him pick a new name for the band.
“Let’s land on something together, and we’re just having faith that y’all aren’t going to just burn us with the crazy name,” he said. “The album is still called ‘Dawn Patrol’ and then hopefully we can get our Instagram page back, or we can make new username, and I’ll tag below whatever the new username is.”
The band formerly known as Dawn Patrol will release its second single, “Waste Some Time,” on April 3 before the full album drops on Frank’s birthday, April 8.
Frank headlines “The Jesus Generation” tour with The Figs, Cory Asbury, and Tori Kelly beginning in June.
