“Praise God, praise God,” said Underwood. “Thank you. That’s all I have to say. Thank you.”

“Thank you, God bless you,” McCullough replied.

“Will the congregation please say amen?” Richie told him.

When Seacrest asked McCullough if this is what he does every Sunday, the worship director agreed and said, “This feels like church to me.”

Hannah Harper, a mom of three who has been letting her faith shine throughout the competition, sang Chris Tomlin’s “At The Cross (Love Ran Red)” to high praise from all three judges. Afterward, she seemed to suggest to Seacrest that she was grateful to be able to share the gospel on the “American Idol” platform.

“What was special about the performance of that song here tonight?” he asked, noting that her family was there.

“An opportunity to give an invitation on this platform is incredible,” she answered through tears.

Chris Tungseth prayed as he finished performing “By His Grace” by Cody Johnson, saying, “Thank you, Jesus.” Underwood told him his performance was blowing her mind.

After the judges gave their feedback, Seacrest mentioned to Tungseth that people had been reaching out to him. “It’s unbelievable,” Tungseth responded. “Even just today, going through my phone, and friends and family across the world are shooting me texts and sending me Bible verses and love, and I just feel so blessed, and the Holy Spirit was here tonight.”
