In a separate post Tuesday, April 28, Downs told her followers, “I didn’t realize how many of you have been hoping and praying for me and praying that God would answer this specific desire of my heart. Thank you so so much for that.”
“I’m so thankful for JW. He’s the right man at the right time,” she continued. “Thanks be to God. I’ve never had more fun with a person in my life. He’s just the actual best.”
Downs went on to say she is thankful for her life exactly as it has happened. “JW was worth the wait AND my life before him was worth living,” she said. “(If I could make that bold, I would. You’re gonna hear me say that A LOT. I honor my future married life AND I honor where I’ve been and the seasons I’ve lived as a single woman.).”
Downs said that she and Jaeger would share more about their story as they were ready. “[I’m] so thankful for Jesus,” she said. “He has been a near and dear companion to me in every step. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
