YouTube Labels John MacArthur’s Latest Sermon ‘Hate Speech’

Fighting against how God uniquely created you puts you at a war with God, MacArthur explained. “You are not only fighting God in His physical creation, you are—even more importantly—fighting God in His sovereignty. You are fighting God in His spiritual relationship to you. This is a war on God.” MacArthur said that someone who fights God’s creation is saying, “‘I’m not going to let God tell me who I am. I am not going to let God define me. I’m going to be my own god. I’m going to define myself.’”

MacArthur defines someone who thinks this way as being “in Romans 1. That’s a reprobate mind. That’s a mind that doesn’t even function.”

Making it clear that he was speaking in love and cared for those who live a lifestyle contrary to the Word of God, MacArthur explained, “So while I’m saying that with firmness so that you understand it, I think this has to be dealt with love and compassion, because there’s some holes in the heart of someone going in that direction. There’s a lack of being loved and accepted and feeling wanted and needed and significant.”

“So on the one hand, the reality of that lie and deception is so damaging, so destructive, so isolating, so corrupting that it needs to be confronted,” MacArthur concluded. “But on the other hand that confrontation can’t exaggerate what already exists, which is a sense of feeling isolated in relationships. So you’ve got to find the fine line between confronting the error of it to protect the person and, at the same time, providing the love and affirmation that the person needs to be all that God would have that person be.”

Starnes said that YouTube removed MacArthur’s clip because it violated their hate speech policy.

“Our team has reviewed your content, and, unfortunately, we think it violates our hate speech policy,” YouTube wrote Starnes. “We’ve removed the following content from YouTube: ‘There is no such thing as transgender. You are either XX or XY. That’s it. – Pastor John MacArthur.’”

Starnes also shared a message from Thomas More Society’s special counsel, Jenna Ellis, who represented MacArthur and Grace Community Church in their legal dispute with the Los Angeles government regarding COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Ellis blasted YouTube for removing MacArthur’s sermon, saying, “The big tech oligarchy in the United States is implementing the equivalent of Canada’s insane law by censoring truth and the right of pastors to teach the Bible. If Americans don’t stop big tech, this new Regime will circumvent the Constitution to foreclose our fundamental rights to speak and exercise religion and the impact will be devastating. I stand with John MacArthur and all pastors across the world who are simply standing firm, and teaching biblical truth and I will continue to fight to protect the Church in America.”

Starnes believes this is just the beginning of Christians being censored, and he told Americans to prepare for a time when people who teach the word of God will face persecution. Starnes concluded by saying that he will stand with MacArthur.
