In an appearance on Fox and Friends, Green explained that when he says he is giving up ownership of Hobby Lobby, what he means he is putting 100% of Hobby Lobby’s voting stock into a trust, “which is managed by several family members.”
Regarding how this decision will help him to serve God better, Green said, “It helps tremendously because if you drill down on any ownership and wealth, generally you’ll find that it’s a curse.” He explained that “wealth can be a curse” in that it can harm a person’s marriage and children. Now, Green’s family has undergone a “paradigm change” and “we all just receive what we earn.” What more, David Green said, “The Scriptures [tell] us that God owns everything, so all we did is said, ‘Ok you own it, then we’re going to steward it.”
