As time passed, Jones knocked on Brewer’s door. Brewer answered the door, still shirtless. They talked. Brewer told Jones that Nicole was with Burch having a cigarette and shut the door. Jones walked away. In her testimony to TRR, Jones remembered that the lights were off and described Brewer as being sweaty.
“We knew in that moment that was probably a bold-faced lie,” Chan said, because Nicole didn’t smoke. “But of course, what are we going to do? You know, us girls are going to push down a door for a guy that’s 6’5”…and strong?”
Nearly an hour after Nicole first entered Brewer’s hotel room, video footage shows Brewer, who is now wearing a shirt, opening the door, and Nicole walking out of the room. Nicole then walked down the hall and collapsed in front of her hotel room.
Nicole told TRR that she doesn’t “fully remember” what happened to her after Tait’s tequila shot. She said:
The next thing that I remember is being on a bathroom floor and feeling like a 1,000 pounds were on me. My body was so heavy I could hardly move. I hear Matt Brewer’s voice, and I remember [Tait] being in there. I remember the feeling of my head being pushed down between someone’s legs. I…guess oral sex, or an attempt, but I don’t fully remember.
Nicole Taken to a Hospital
Camera footage shows Jones and Chan finding Nicole passed out in the hallway. Nicole’s friend recalled that Nicole’s pants were unzipped and described Nicole to TRR as “motionless.”
As Jones and Chan assisted Nicole into her room, Brewer can be seen talking on his phone while walking to the elevator. Jones then walked over to Brewer and confronted him, following him down onto the elevator. Jones said Brewer “was wasted.”
Chan said that when Nicole woke up the next morning, Nicole told her and Jones that she “woke up to giving Matt Brewer a blow job.” Nicole told TRR that she had also discovered that her tampon was jammed up in her vagina as a result of whatever took place.
At their urging, Nicole then spoke with Jack Campbell, but Nicole told TRR, “He was so uncomfortable. He was just like, ‘It’s fine. You do whatever you want on your off days. I don’t care. You don’t need to talk to me.’”

Nicole then spoke with Matt Best, an employee for Pulse Evangelism, who drove her to the emergency room, where she received a Plan B contraceptive and was encouraged to utilize a rape kit and undergo a toxicology test.
“I remember feeling overwhelmed by the explanation of the process of a ‘rape test.’ I did not want to say that I was raped or even believe it, because it’s horrific if it’s true,” Nicole told TRR. She eventually declined both tests, a decision she said she now regrets.
Nicole recalled that she was “just shaking, praying for it all to end.” She said, “I did not go in fighting. My feelings more resembled the feeling of sitting in a principal’s office, waiting to get scolded. It’s a miracle I even stepped foot in that hospital, because I wouldn’t have gone on my own.”
