Pence said, “The author of numerous bestselling books on family life, Dr. Dobson founded Focus on the Family in 1977, launched the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute and his Family Talk radio program was heard and cherished by millions of people across the country.”
“Dr. Dobson was also a personal friend and mentor to me who was always a source of encouragement and counsel. He will be deeply missed,” Pence added. “Karen and I send our deepest sympathies and prayers to his beloved wife Shirley, his family and friends, and all of us who mourn the loss of this great man of faith. God Bless James Dobson.”

Dr. Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said in an op-ed that Dobson “was was one of the most influential voices in American evangelicalism for at least a half-century…[Dobson] lived life on a big stage, and historians will have to reckon with him long into the future.”
Author Lee Strobel wrote, “Friend, visionary, advocate for family and faith—now Home with his beloved Lord. We’ll miss his voice and passion.”
