“‘How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle’…we will all miss Dr Dobson…his books helped us raise our kids especially the one about strong willed kids,” Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Chancellor O.S. Hawkins posted. “Being on his radio program many times helped launch the Code Series of devotionals…his close relationship with FBCDallas during the Criswell yrs and my yrs there were a blessing…Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints!”

Apologist and Pastor Dr. Jeremiah Johnston shared, “Enter into the Joy of our Lord, Dr James Dobson and Rest in Peace. I once preached a sermon in his home outside of Colorado Springs and here we are pictured together in Washington DC.”

“I pause and reflect on the profound influence of @DrJamesDobsonFT, whose leadership in Christian psychology and family ministry has shaped countless lives,” Johnston said. “As the founder of Focus on the Family and the voice behind Family Talk, he spent decades encouraging parents, guiding families, and advocating for Jesus-centered living.”

Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President Clint Pressley said, “Thankful for this man’s life, legacy and profound influence on millions.”

Former SBC President Bart Barber wrote, “There may not be any Southern Baptist who had more of an impact upon Southern Baptists than James Dobson had.”

Pastor Jack Graham posted, “Dr. James Dobson is with the Lord celebrating God’s grace! His life influenced countless millions in multiple generations & his wisdom counseled families across the world to follow Christ & live according to biblical principles.”

Author Eric Metaxas shared that it has been “one of the great honors of my life to know Dr. James Dobson. What a hero! He was not afraid to bring his faith into the public sphere for God’s purposes.” Metaxas said that Dobson “has finished the race—to God’s glory! Hallelujah! May we all follow in his footsteps. Praise the LORD!”

“My condolences to the Dobson family and to @FocusFamily on the passing of Dr. Dobson,” Christian ethicist Dr. Andrew Walker wrote. “As a graduate of the Focus on the Family Leadership Institute during my college years, Focus profoundly shaped my worldview.”

“It’s hard to overstate Dr. Dobson’s influence on American culture and the lives of countless individuals and families,” Walker added. “A faithful servant now rests in Christ.”

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott said, “Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. James C. Dobson Jr. Join us as we pray for his family, ministry, and all those who were blessed by his extraordinary, faith filled life.”
