Simplifying things almost always is, no matter what size church you serve, but especially if the church is small (whatever number you consider a small church to be).

Though covenant theology has been around for millennia, it finds its more refined and systematic formulation in the Protestant Reformation.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” God puts great value in the loving, trusting heart of a child.

Regardless how much time a pastor spends in sermon prep, a common question can be “why.” Why do you spend so much time in sermon prep?

Dr. Tony Evans delivered a challenging Father’s Day sermon this year. The pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship asked men to evaluate who they were going serve this year.

I’m rooting for seminaries. I’m rooting most of all for the future of the Church and the decisive role theological education – and the preparation for ministry in general – needs to play in that future.

The real question we need to ask regarding strong women is: Do we want women to be weak? And the answer must forever be, on the basis of Scripture, “May it never be.”

What makes an announcement worthy of my attention and the valuable real estate it occupies during a Sunday service is its importance and urgency to act upon compared to other items occupying the church calendar.
