On Friday, Dec. 19, media personality Megyn Kelly closed out the second night of America Fest 2025 (AmFest) by being interviewed by Human Events senior editor and political commentator Jack Posobiec. During the discussion, Kelly shared that she has prayed to both Charlie Kirk and God for guidance.
On Sept. 10, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking during a stop of his The American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University.
This year’s AmFest was the first since Kirk, Turning Point USA’s (TPUSA) cofounder, was assassinated. Featured speakers included Erika Kirk, Tucker Carlson, Greg Laurie, Ben Shapiro, Russell Brand, Dr. Ben Carson, Steve Deace, Rob Schneider, Jesse Waters, Danica Patrick, Riley Gaines, Allie Beth Stuckey, Bryce Crawford, Frank Turek, John Amanchukwu, Tulsi Gabbard, Tom Homan, Glenn Beck, Speaker Mike Johnson, Nicki Minaj, Donald Trump Jr., and Vice President JD Vance, among others.
Since Kirk’s assassination, several online influencers, including well-known political commentator and former Kirk family friend Candace Owens, have shared conspiracy theories regarding Kirk’s death.

During the interview in front of 30,000 plus AmFest attendees, Kelly described how she was asked by Erika, Charlie’s widow, to moderate a face-to-face sit-down between Erika and Candace Owens in hopes of de-escalating tensions among Owens and TPUSA.
Kelly shared who she felt spiritually led to help facilitate the meeting, citing prayer, empathy for Owens following personal trauma, and a desire to prevent further fractures on the right. After initial plans for a live-streamed event were scrapped due to security concerns, Erika traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, for a private meeting that Kelly says went well.
Kelly said that Erika asked her to moderate the conversation and that Erika felt strongly about meeting with Owens face-to-face. “And I’ve gotten to know Candace a little better over the past months—and I actually thought she might do it,” said Kelly. “Like I wasn’t sure, but I don’t know. An invitation from Erika would be hard to resist. And [Erika] said, ‘Would you please come and facilitate it?’”

“And of course, I’m like, ‘Oh my mother of God, what am I getting myself into?’” Kelly explained. “But I actually felt like it was divine right order. And I have to tell you, Jack, I’ve prayed so many times, so many times to Charlie and to God to give me the right guidance on how to handle this whole thing.”
Kelly described “the fracture within the conservative movement, my friends turning on me because I won’t call out my other friends like Tucker [Carlson]; this dust up between Candace and Erika and Turning Point and Candace, which is fraught.”
