“Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink” (Matt. 6:25). My father never tired of quoting this text to me when I was a boy. Yet he did take thought for the future.

What if the prodigal returns to a place ruled not by the father, but by older brothers filled with judgment or manipulation?
