“In the name of Jesus, I pray that you would give us your heart and that we would turn to you completely,” she said, “and that we would give up everything that’s not like you, anything in our lives that [dishonors] you, Father, God.”

“Father God, forgive our sins, forgive us, forgive our families, forgive our churches, forgive our nation, forgive us of our sins,” Winans prayed. “We ask you would heal our land. There’s a lot of hurting people right now, a lot of broken people who need your touch.”

She asked God to help believers “be the vessels that we need to be” so that God can work through them, and she thanked him for the gift of prayer.

“Lord, we ask that you would wash us, purify us, Father God, and let us be the holy people that you have paid the price for,” said Winans. “Jesus gave his life, Father God, so that we can live in holiness.”

Quoting John 3:16, Winans said, “You love every nation. You love every tribe, every tongue, you died for all.”

“So Lord, let us love like you love. Let us care like you care, and let us walk in obedience as our incredible model, Jesus, our brother, our Savior, our Lord, walked on this earth,” she prayed. “Let us walk in total obedience to you. In Jesus name, we pray, amen.”

In her prayer video for March 17, CeCe Winans reminded people that “prayer is powerful” and chose the Scripture passage 1 Timothy 2:1-4, which says:

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

“This focuses on our leaders,” she said. “We’re gonna pray for our nation and our leaders today.”

Winans went on to pray for the leaders of the U.S. and government leaders around the world, asking that God would enable them to be obedient to his Spirit. “Father God, just because they are in position does not mean that you are pleased with their behavior,” Winans said.

She prayed for peace around the world and for God’s protection from war, noting that God cares for unborn children and those in prison. “We pray that you would raise up men and women of God who will stand for righteousness,” Winans asked. “Lord, help us to turn…we plead the blood over our leaders.”

“I pray for leaders, Lord, that will recognize that you’re God, and not them,” she said.
