The star-studded finale included performances from Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, En Vogue, Nelly, Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley, Mötley Crüe, Tori Kelly, Shinedown, Alicia Keys, Raye, the “American Idol” judges, and “American Idol” contestants from this season. Before the winner was announced, Harper and McCullough performed their audition songs. Harper performed “String Cheese,” and McCullough performed “Goodness of God” by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson.

After being announced the winner, Harper was tasked with singing “At the Cross,” but was so overcome with emotion that she simply worshiped and cried as the “American Idol” contestants joined her onstage.

“I never imagined that God would open this many doors for my voice to be heard,” Harper said.
