The pandemic has deeply modified how we are connecting with people. The irony is that technology has made a difficult situation easier . . . in some ways. I’ve been reading accounts of the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918 and the correlations to the current Covid-19 pandemic are startling.

All throughout the Scriptures the sea and the ocean is symbolic of chaos, danger, and evil. It’s not surprising, then, that the great beast will come out of the sea (Rev 13). This is the place where all that is unpredictable and chaotic comes from.

The pandemic has changed almost everything we do, but pastors have pivoted quickly and worked hard to make adjustments. If ever they had earned appreciation, it’s this year. Here are some ways to show your gratitude during this Pastor Appreciation Month:

"The most important thing the church can do to protect religious liberty and freedom of conscience is to hold to the gospel itself."

Aside from running away from the bear or shooting it (you’d need a permit in most places), what can we do to quiet this stress response in our day-to-day experience?

Things We Don’t Want to Talk About (But Probably Should)

Most pastors don’t hear these words enough. So send them a card, say it personally, or even just send an email saying thanks for who they are and what they do.
